Questions
How is words per minute worked out?
Every 5 correct characters count as one word, including spaces. We divide that by the minutes you typed. Wrong characters don't count toward your speed.
Is my typing saved or sent anywhere?
No. The test runs in your browser tab. Nothing you type leaves your device, and closing the tab clears it.
Is speaking really faster than typing?
For most people, yes. A Stanford study found speech input was about 3x faster than typing on a phone keyboard. Your own result depends on how you talk and type.
